Indian flag has three energizing colors - Orange, white and Green and we all love to look up at our flag with pride :)
Like most of us, my beautiful memories are of childhood, specially school days. Students from all different grades would assemble on the play ground, each one in well ironed green uniform and white shirt, white as snow :). Flag hoisting would be done by our principal, the scattering of flower petals as our flag unfolds was mesmerizing and we would proudly sing our National Anthem. Post this we were given refreshments by or teachers. Oh, I miss this so much!!
With all childhood memories and inspiring colors of our flag, I decided to get a patriotic feel in the kitchen today. A lovely energizing Tricolor Sandwich with colorful Chutney and Veggies.
First prepare Chutneys
For Green chutney grind all the ingredients (given in green chutney section), keep aside
For Red chutney grind all the ingredients (given in red chutney section), keep aside
Take 4 slice breads, cut all 4 corners
Apply red chutney on a bread slice and add a layer of grated carrot
Apply red chutney on one end of another bread slice and pile it on top of grated carrot
To the other side of the same bread apply butter
Then arrange boiled potato slices and garnish with Salt and pepper powder on the bread slice
Take another bread slice and on one side apply butter and other side apply green chutney
Place bread with butter side on top of potatoes
On the other side arrange cucumber slices and sprinkle salt
Take the last bread slice and apply green chutney and pile it on the cucumber slices.
Your Sandwich is ready
Cut it into triangles
Serve with tomato sauce
**If your making this for kids, add a cheese slice to the middle layer.
